Let's Talk Writers

As with every idea that needs collaboration, I called on my friends who help me out. Two of my besties and one of my homeboys from graduate school. A blondie, the vegan, and a hot guy. Actually, we all went to the same graduate school for writing. I was the last one to finish. I finish next week. (Continues patting self on the back.)

So we all meet up, flush out the idea, I read the spec script and they gave me a lot of notes. We ate cupcakes, apples (we're all teachers, just me and the hottie are still teachers) and hung out. Everyone had their assignments and we had a good time. Well... weeks later only ONE of my writer friends, who is hella busy, handed over her scrips. The other two got extra busy and couldn't do it. One was finishing his book and the other was launching her business.

For the one launching her business, she still shot the promo with me and is always helping me out with everything. What I will say about her is she is like my therapist through the process. I can't get mad at her. As for the hottie, well I heard nothing since he dropped out. He's still my homie though but what was I supposed to expect from a creative writer?! You can not force greatness!

So I cried on my blondie friend shoulder about the series and she slides me over my glass of wine and says, she's still proud of me. Like all hot blonds, she came up with several solutions, gets me in contact with the right people and pushes me in the right direction. (I owe her 15% of whatever I make because she knows how to take charge of my life and get it back on track) Guess who is fueled back up? ME!

That picture at the top is what I thought of when I pictured my friends and I writing together. What actually happened...
I know... Awe.
